Middle School Winner

Ms. Gill- 8th Grade Teacher

By: Jordyn Levings, Inola Middle School

I go to school at Inola Middle School. I am in the 6th grade. My name is Jordyn Levings. Here in Inola, there are many excellent teachers. Out of all of them, I would like to nominate Ms. Gill.

Ms. Gill teaches Language Arts and Writing. Last year was her first year in Inola, and she taught 5th grade. This year, she teaches 8th grade. Last year, I was in her class. I will tell you why Ms. Gill should be the winner of the “I Like My Teacher” contest.

One of the main reasons Ms. Gill should win the “I Like My Teacher” contest is the way she teachers. She will thoroughly explain what you will be working on, then, if people don’t get it, she goes over it again, in a different way. After most everyone understands, we play a game, and you get rewarded for getting answers right.

Ms. Gill has an excellent reward system. As I mentioned before, she gives a reward for getting answers right in activities. She also has her own reward system called “Class Compliments”. Your class will get one compliment if the class is well behaved, everyone has a good grade, or if everyone turns in their homework. After your class gets 30 compliments, you all give money to her and she goes out and buys pizzas of our choice for us.

Those are my main reasons Ms. Gill should win your contest. Over all, she is an excellent teacher. I could say that about any teacher here, but Ms. Gill stands out. That is why she should win this contest.

Ms. Geilenfield – 3rd Grade Teacher

By: Kalli Fuqua, Inola Middle School

I am Kalli Fuqua. I’m in the fifth grade. I enjoy English and Science. I attend Inola Middle School. I am ten years old. I have many favorite teachers but my favorite is Ms. Paula Geilenfield.

Ms. Paula Geilendfield was my third grade teacher. We did many experiments. She used Bingo to teach us our sounds, compound words, and vocabulary words. When we did math papers, she would let us have partners and let us sit in the big chair. When she read out loud our book, she would let us sit wherever we wanted. She really made school fun for me. Before third grade, I didn’t enjoy school as much.

I used to roll out of bed dreading the day ahead. I couldn’t wait to get out of school. Now, I enjoy school very much. I hope you will pick me. Not for the IPod Touch, the Wii, or Playstation 3. It’s for the donation to Ms. Geilenfield.
